Group Description

Many talented artists begin their journey performing at small venues, open mics, and community events. The transition from passionate amateur to professional artist often requires more than talent alone—it requires discipline, feedback, collaboration, and real opportunities to perform and grow.

The Emerging Artists & Performers group brings together musicians, vocalists, comedians, spoken-word artists, actors, dancers, and other creative performers who are actively developing their skills and working toward a professional level of performance. Members share experience, support each other’s growth, and connect with others who are serious about improving their craft.

Through collaboration, performance opportunities, and community support, this group helps artists refine their stage presence, develop their material, and learn how to present their work to wider audiences. Members may participate in open mics, workshops, and curated events designed to showcase developing talent.

Athena VII and its partners may periodically host opportunities such as the Athena Utah Talent Showcase, live audience recording sessions, and promotional media opportunities that help performers build portfolios, demo reels, and promotional content that can support the next stage of their creative journey.

Group Administrator – Position Open

We welcome a Salt Lake City–area leader who is passionate about supporting emerging talent and helping build a collaborative community for serious performers.

The Group Administrator helps guide discussions, connect artists working in different performance disciplines, and foster an environment where members can learn from one another while advancing their skills.

The administrator may also collaborate with Athena VII to organize talent showcases, performance workshops, open mic nights, and other community events that highlight developing artists and encourage creative growth.

This role is ideal for someone active in the performing arts community who enjoys bringing talented people together and helping create opportunities for artists to develop their craft.
